“ The restaurant is small and cozy. One of the few places where you can actually hear your dining companions. Reservations are a must. The service was excellent. She was helpful, knew the menu and attentive. This is not a sushi restaurant but serves fresh Japanese food. Everything on the menu looked appealing. We ordered more food than necessary but it was so good, we ate everything. The one thing that I would skip is the potato croquettes. They were good but felt out of place with the rest of the menu. Starters: the beef tataki sauce was good; the beef was a bit chewy. The flavor of the yakatori was really good. The five pc omakase starter is very worth the 20. So good! The Karaage chicken was perfectly fried. Mains: The Take Kago is really good if you wanted a bit of everything. It was well explained and nicely presented. The Unagi Don was delicious, the eel very well prepared. The seafood platter was fresh. The oysters were delightful. Note: some dishes from the Omakase starter were also in the Take Kago. Maybe ask what is in each before ordering if you want a bit more variety. We all had beverages (non achohlic) and they were refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer. Desserts. Oh my. We ordered an assortment and it was all wonderful. My favorite was the yuzu sorbet. ”

I have visited many Japanese restaurants in Montreal, but this one serves authentic Japanese cuisine that Japanese people would find delicious. To be honest, it is a little more expensive than average, but considering that they do not use cheap ingredients and the rising cost of living, I think it is reasonable. The atmosphere is not bad, and the food is excellent, but it is very disappointing that many reviews lower the rating with rude comments. I think it is unfair to review other people's individuality. Additionally, many people give one star based on personal taste preferences, which I find unreasonable. This is authentic Japanese cuisine. If I must mention something, I agree there are a few areas where service could be improved, and I wanted to eat croquettes that felt more homemade, but overall, they deserve five stars. You should go to a generic sushi restaurant if you claim this isn't Japanese cuisine. ”
